(When hearts blossom before roses, and humanity precedes all titles…)
College of Education for Girls /University of Shatrah continues to plant hope in the governorate's orphanages.
Believing that knowledge has a mission and humanity has two wings, and as part of its ongoing journey of embracing noble values, the College of Education for Girls / University of Shatrah organised a humanitarian visit to three orphan care homes in Dhi Qar Governorate on Thursday, 29 / 1 / 2026.
This visit carried with it the fragrance of love and sincere giving, as a delegation of the college's male and female teaching staff and employees went to:
Al-Bara'em Care Home
Al-Zuhoor Care Home
Al-Tufoola Orphans' Home
The visit included the distribution of gifts and in-kind supplies meeting the needs of our orphaned children, in a step aimed at bringing joy to their hearts and strengthening their sense of care and social inclusion. These gifts were not merely material items, but messages of warmth and hope, so that the smile of an orphaned child becomes a motive for continued giving and the moment turns into a beautiful memory in small hearts that deserve joy.
This initiative was the fruit of sincere efforts by the college family, foremost among them Asst. Prof. Dr. Ibtihaj Ahmed, head of the Student Affairs and Registration Division at the college, who played a prominent role in organising and managing a number of charity bazaars and collecting their proceeds in support of orphans, with the generous support of the college's teaching staff and employees, in a picture that reflects the spirit of cooperation and joint humanitarian work.
The following took part in this humanitarian visit:
Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Khalid Hamid – Head of the Department of Qur'anic Sciences and Islamic Education
Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Nasser Hassoun – Head of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Unit
Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Habib Al-Musawi – Rapporteur of the Department of Biology
Mr. Ahmed Naeem – Head of the Follow-up Division
Ms. Azal Majid
Ms. Fatima Hassan
Ms. Shaimaa Kadhim
Mr. Ali Khalaf – Head of the Vehicles Unit at the college
Mr. Hashim Majid Hassan
in addition to a number of the college's respected teaching and administrative staff.
This initiative is an extension of the series of volunteer activities that the College of Education for Girls regularly organises, affirming its humanitarian role alongside its academic role, and out of its belief that creating hope in the hearts of orphans is a shared moral and social responsibility.
