The College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the University of Shatrah organises an awareness seminar entitled "The Importance of Early Detection of Breast Cancer"
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Shatrah, Prof. Dr. Basim Abdul-Hussein Jarallah,
and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, Prof. Dr. Imad Kadhim Yasser,
the Women's Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Cultural Division, organised an awareness seminar entitled "The Importance of Early Detection of Breast Cancer", delivered by Dr. Afyaa Muhsin and moderated by Assistant Lecturer Israa Hashim Mankhi, at ten o'clock on the morning of Sunday, 26 October 2025, in the College's Seminar Hall.
The seminar was presented by specialist Dr. Afyaa Muhsin Al-Sinjari, who addressed in her lecture a number of themes related to methods of prevention and the importance of self-examination and periodic screening for early detection of the disease, as well as the role of health awareness in reducing infection and mortality rates.
The seminar aimed to shed light on the importance of health education and to encourage women to undergo periodic examinations for the early detection of breast cancer, as this contributes significantly to increasing the chances of recovery and reducing complications.
The seminar included an explanatory presentation on detection mechanisms and the early signs of the disease, in addition to interactive discussions between the attendees and the lecturer on modern methods of diagnosis and treatment.
At the conclusion of the seminar, praise was given to the awareness role played by the University in promoting a culture of preventive health within the academic community and the local community.
